Movember is back
Last year the “Ironsideburns” raised a monumental £24,055 for the Movember foundation.
For those of you that are new to the club (or new to Movember), Movember is not only about growing an epic moustache, but also funding some incredible projects for Men’s Health.
Movember is the leading charity changing the face of Men’s Health through three main cause areas:
Suicide Prevention and Mental Health
Prostate Cancer
Testicular Cancer
As many of you will be aware, last July we lost one of our own, Elliot Hennell.
Elliot was a valued and much loved member of our Ironsides community. As our 5XV captain, Elliot was often one of the first faces newcomers got to know at the club and was always ready to welcome people with a smile and a conversation (and often a pint of Guinness too!). As an ex-serviceman, Elliot also took the lead in the management and organisation of the annual fixture against the Royal Tank Regiment.
Elliot was first and foremost though an outstanding teammate and friend and is missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.
Last Movember we grew Mos and we walked 60kms in memory of Elliot, coming together to talk and to raise money for a truly critical cause. This year we have some awesome foundations in place to raise even more money, hold more conversations, and continue contributing to the wider Movember mission to change the face of Men’s Health.
There are plenty of ways to be involved this Movember including: setting exercise challenges and hosting events, proving that this is not just a month for men, so ladies please get involved. We all have brothers, fathers, uncles, and grandfathers, so let’s raise money for the men in our lives and spread awareness.
Please sign up to the team and get involved in the fun over the next few weeks. Watch this space for further announcements and reach out to Charlie Stuart or Charlie Craig if you want to get involved further!
