Remembrance Lunch
On Friday 12th November Ironsides hosted the annual Old Boys Remembrance Lunch.
It was good to see all our Old Boys and their wives pull out all the stops to attend the event this year especially after the Remembrance lunch not being able to be held for the last two years.
Ironsides would normally host the lunch annually, on the Friday prior to Remembrance Sunday.
Our Old Boys travelled from as far afield as Cornwall, Devon and Yorkshire.
Some of our older members have been at the club for fifty five years and more, so it was a great day to catch up to remember not only our own members who we have lost but also all war Veterans.
Thank you to all those that helped make this event possible - George Dallimore who organises the event yearly, Sean and Lynn Lyons, Dave and Barbara Watson and Wendy Price for cooking, Al Martin for supplying the table wine, Shane Coney for supplying the whiskey, Chris Dixon for providing the port, Dave Taylor for leading the 2 minutes silence and toasting the Colonel and to all members who attended.
A last shout out to all those that donated on the day and for the rugby section for contributing towards the food.
